Casting News - Miranda Otto Joins Netflix's 'Sabrina' Drama; Sarah Gadon to Recur on 'True Detective'; Plus 1 More Update!

DC's Titans; HBO's True Detective; and Netflix's Untitled Sabrina Drama.






HBO's TRUE DETECTIVE
  • Sarah Gadon and Emily Nelson have booked recurring roles on the upcoming third installment of the anthology series. Gadon played the title character in Netflix's Alias Grace and also starred in Hulu's 11.22.63. Nelson has previously recurred on CBS' Code Black.
  • Gadon will play Elisa Montgomery. Nelson will play Margaret. No additional information was immediately released about their characters.
DC's TITANS
  • April Bowlby has been cast in a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Brenton Thwaites. She starred for six seasons in Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva and appears in Paramount's upcoming dark comedy Heathers.
  • She will play Rita Farr, aka Elasti-Girl. An actress on the rise, Rita was exposed to a toxic gas that altered her cellular structure - which allows her to expand or shrink her body at will. Longing for the days of old, she finds a place for herself among The Doom Patrol.
NETFLIX's UNTITLED SABRINA DRAMA
  • Miranda Otto has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Kiernan Shipka. She starred in the Lord of the Rings film franchise. She also had season-long arcs on Showtime's Homeland and FOX's 24: Live Another Day.
  • She will play Zelda Spellman, Sabrina's (Shipka) sterner witch aunt. Proud and devout, she believes there is no greater honor than serving the Dark Lord as a member of the Church of Night. She is the family's disciplinarian, fiercely protective of Sabrina, and very much Cain to Hilda's (Lucy Davis) Abel.
