Casting News - 'The Killing's Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman Reunite for Amazon's 'Hanna'; Plus 4 More Updates!

Casting News - February 8, 2018

ABC's The Rookie; Amazon's Hanna; AMC's The Little Drummer Girl; Epix's Get Shorty; and Netflix's House of Cards.

AMAZON's HANNA
  • Mireille Enos, Joel Kinnaman and Esme Creed-Miles will star in the upcoming drama based on the 2011 film of the same name. The casting reunites Enos and Kinnaman after they starred together for four seasons on the AMC/Netflix drama The Killing. More recently, Enos starred for two seasons in ABC's The Catch while Kinnaman currently appears in the lead role on Netflix's Altered Carbon (where he only had a one-season contract).
  • Enos will play Marissa, an efficient and ruthless agent who has risen up the ranks of the CIA. Beneath her cool exterior is a deeply buried secret that continues to haunt her. The reappearance of Hanna and her father Erik threaten to expose the past she has worked to repress.
  • Kinnaman will play Erik, a hardened, intuitive and uncompromising soldier and mercenary. For the past 15 years, he has raised his daughter in the remote forests of northern Poland. Isolated from the world he once knew, he has trained Hanna in every method of survival, with his only goal, to keep her safe. But his teenage daughter begins to seek freedom from the restricted haven he has created.
  • Creed-Miles will play Hanna, an extraordinary teenage girl who has lived all her life in a forest in Northern Poland until becoming the heart of an unraveling conspiracy. She feels she must leave the confinement of the forest to experience life, but once in the world, Hanna is hunted by Marissa and others connected to her hidden origins and exceptional abilities.
AMC's THE LITTLE DRUMMER GIRL
  • Production has begun today on the upcoming six-part miniseries directed by Park Chan-Wook. The announcement also reveals that Charles Dance, Charif Ghattas, Michael Moshonov, Katharina Schuttler and Simona Brown will co-star on the series. They join a cast that includes Florence Pugh, Alexander Skarsgård and Michael Shannon.
NETFLIX's HOUSE OF CARDS
  • Cody Fern has joined the drama's upcoming sixth and final season as a new series regular. He can currently be seen in a recurring role on FX's The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. Like with most casting on the drama, no details were immediately released about the character he will be playing.
ABC's THE ROOKIE
  • Melissa O'Neil has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming drama starring Nathan Fillion. She starred for three seasons in Syfy's Dark Matter and will next be seen in a recurring role on Audience's Condor.
  • She will play Lucy Benitez, a rookie cop in the LAPD who has a family history filled with lawbreakers. She may be developing a budding romance with John Nolan (Fillion).
EPIX's GET SHORTY
  • Emmy winner Felicity Huffman has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She won her Emmy during her eight-year run on ABC's Desperate Housewives and received three additional nominations for ABC's American Crime.
  • She will play Clara Dillard, a maternal, high-level FBI special agent who is a hippie therapist crossed with J. Edgar Hoover. She will oversee the Bureau's investigation of Amara (Lidia Porto) and the crime organization.
