NBC Renews 'Midnight, Texas' for Season 2

NBC has renewed its original drama series Midnight, Texas for a second season, it was announced today. However, the drama will be getting new showrunners for the second season.

François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Arielle Kebbel, Jason Lewis and Peter Mensah are confirmed to return for the new season as series regulars. Sarah Ramos and Yul Vazquez aren't expected to return full-time but could still make guest appearances.

Monica Owusu-Breen developed the drama based on the book trilogy by Charlaine Harris. She served as showrunner for the first season but will be exiting the series. Consulting producers Eric Charmelo and Nicole Snyder have been tapped to replace her as co-showrunners. They will executive produce with David Janollari. Universal Television produces.

In its first season (which aired in Summer 2017), the drama averaged a 1.1 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and 4.2 million total viewers when factoring in three days of delayed viewing.
