Casting News - Sophie Okonedo and Genevieve Angelson Join 'Flack'; 'Camping' Adds Ione Skye; Plus 2 More Updates!

Casting News - March 20, 2018

AMC's Preacher; FX's American Horror Story; HBO's Camping; and  Pop's Flack.

POP's FLACK
  • Sophie Okonedo, Genevieve Angelson, Lydia Wilson, Rebecca Benson, Arinzé Kene, Marc Warren and Rufus Jones have joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Anna Paquin.
  • Okonedo will play Caroline, Robyn's (Paquin) boss and the fearless leader of the PR company, Mills Paulson.
  • Angelson will play Ruth, Robyn's sister and confidante.
  • Wilson will play Eve, Robyn's foul-mouthed best friend and colleague who represents the dark heart of the series.
  • Benson will play Melody, the new girl in town and at the agency.
  • Kene will play Sam, Robyn's charming and tolerant boyfriend who wants to settle down and have kids - the furthest thing from Robyn's mind.
  • Warren will play Tom, a charming but somewhat damaged ex-dancer in Robyn's N.A. class. There's definitely an attraction between them.
  • Jones will play Mark, Ruth's comfortably old-fashioned husband.
AMC's PREACHER
  • Adam Croasdell and Prema Cruz have been cast in recurring roles on the drama's upcoming third season. Croasdell recurred on the final season of The CW's Reign while Cruz has recurred on Amazon's Mozart in the Jungle.
  • Croasdell will play Eccarius, a 350-year-old vampire who bears wisdom and has an air of aristocracy. He is regal, charming and styles himself after the more romantic, Gothic images of vampires. He appears to be a cliché at first but a much darker character lurks beneath the surface.
  • Cruz will play Madame Boyd, a tough forward thinker. Educated and attractive, she is taking the family business into the modern age.
HBO's CAMPING
  • Ione Skye has booked a series regular role on the upcoming comedy starring Jennifer Garner and David Tennant. Her film credits include Say Anything and Zodiac. She has also recurred on FOX/Netflix's Arrested Development and MTV's Awkward.
  • She will play Carleen. She has spent her life in the shadows - as a sister, as a hospice worker and as an unsuccessful equestrian - and it has left her meek, terrified and relying on her own strange passions (crocheting with polyester yarn) to get her through the lonely days.
FX's AMERICAN HORROR STORY
  • Kathy Bates is returning to the anthology series for its upcoming eighth season. She joined the franchise in its third season and had a starring role in each subsequent season through the six. She sat out during the seventh season because she was starring in the Netflix comedy Disjointed - which was cancelled earlier this year after finishing its 20-episode season.
  • The only known details about the new season are that it will be set in the near future, possibly 10-20 years ahead of the present day. As such, details about Bates' new role are being kept under wraps.
