NETFLIX's THE CROWN
- Tobias Menzies has been tapped to succeed Matt Smith in the role of Prince Philip on the drama's upcoming third season. He has signed on for the role for the next two seasons, alongside Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.
- Menzies starred for three seasons in Starz's Outlander. He is currently a series regular on the AMC anthology series The Terror (which launched to solid ratings on Monday night). He will next appear in the BBC/Amazon film King Lear opposite Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson.
CBS ALL ACCESS' STRANGE ANGEL
- Elena Satine has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Jack Reynor and Rupert Friend. She starred in the fourth season of ABC's Revenge and recently recurred on FOX's The Gifted.
- She will play Maggie, Ernest's (Friend) wife. Beautiful and fashion-forward, she is an ex-Vaudeville song and dance girl who now makes her living designing costumes for RKO Pictures in the late 1930s. She gives off the appearance of being warm and carefree, though some of her husband's activities cause her more grief than she'd like to admit.
