Casting News - April 13, 2018

Hulu's Catch-22 and OWN's Love Is ___.

HULU's CATCH-22
  • Kyle Chandler will star in the upcoming miniseries based on the novel of the same name. He is set to replace George Clooney in the lead role, as Clooney has opted to move to a smaller role to focus more on directing and producing the series. Chandler won an Emmy Award for his performance in NBC's Friday Night Lights. He recently starred for three seasons in Netflix's Bloodline.
  • Chandler will play Colonel Cathcart, the commanding officer who continues to send Yossarian (Christopher Abbott) out on mission. He takes himself very seriously.
  • Clooney will now play Scheisskopf, a training commander at cadet school in California. He's ambitious, humorless, inept, angry, sadistic - and above all else, obsessed with parades and winning parade tournaments. At cadet school, he makes the men's lives a living hell. Deep down he's just an angry idiot, so there's no real danger he'll ever be sent overseas. And then, he is sent overseas. As the head of operations for the entire Mediterranean Theater. And straight back into Yossarian's life.
OWN's LOVE IS ___
  • Wendy Davis has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming drama starring Michele Weaver and Will Catlett. She starred for seven seasons in Lifetime's Army Wives.
  • She will play Nuri in the year 2027. She is first seen in her 50s, relaxed, happy and comfortable in her life and her 32-year marriage to Yasir (Clarke Peters). She replaces Lana Young, who was originally cast in the series regular role.
