Amazon has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original limited series Picnic at Hanging Rock starring Natalie Dormer.
The six-episode series will debut on the streaming service on Friday, May 25.
Based on the novel by Joan Lindsay, the 1900-set drama centers on the mysterious disappearances of three schoolgirls on Valentine's Day, and how the ensuing investigation affects the boarding school, the families and the surrounding town.
In addition to Dormer, the drama stars Samara Weaving, Madeleine Madden, Lily Sullivan, Lola Bessis, Yael Stone, Anna McGahan, Sibylla Budd, Ruby Rees and Inez Curro.
Alice Addison developed the series. She executive produces with Jo Porter, Anthony Ellis, Penny Win, Beatrix Christian and director Larysa Kondracki. FremantleMedia International produces.
