Casting News - Monica Raymund Confirms 'Chicago Fire' Exit; Max Greenfield to Star in 'The Neighborhood'; Plus 1 More Update!

Casting News - May 15, 2018

CBS' The Neighborhood; The CW's Dynasty; and NBC's Chicago Fire.

NBC's CHICAGO FIRE
  • Monica Raymund has confirmed that she will be departing the cast of the hit drama series after six seasons today. She was one of five original cast members whose initial contracts were up at the end of the sixth season. Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney and Eamonn Walker have closed new deals to return, while David Eigenberg is still in negotiations.
  • Raymund plays Gabriela "Gabby" Dawson, the paramedic in charge who also became a firefighter for a short time on the drama. Last week's season finale set up multiple story potentials to address the uncertain contract negotiations. Gabby and Casey (Spencer) were fighting over whether they should continue trying to get pregnant after it was discovered she had an ovarian cyst that could rupture and kill her if she got pregnant. She was also approached with an offer to go on a relief mission in Puerto Rico by her paramedic boss.
CBS' THE NEIGHBORHOOD
  • Max Greenfield has been tapped to replace Josh Lawson in the lead role on the upcoming comedy series (formerly known as Welcome to the Neighborhood). He starred for seven seasons in FOX's New Girl. He has also recurred on FX's American Horror Story: Hotel and The Assassination of Gianni Versace.
  • He will play Dave, the nicest guy in the Midwest who moves his family into a tough neighborhood in Los Angeles where not everyone appreciates his extreme neighborliness.
THE CW's DYNASTY
  • Nicollette Sheridan has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming second season. She made her debut on the show halfway through the first season in a recurring role.
  • She plays Alexis Carrington, Blake's (Grant Show) ex-wife and the mother of Steven (James Mackay) and Fallon (Elizabeth Gillies). Her promotion means that her character will serve the fire that broke out in the closing minutes of the season finale.
