Casting News - Carrie Coon, Natalie Paul and Hannah Gross to Star in Season 2 of USA's 'The Sinner'; Plus 5 More Updates!

Casting News - May 3, 2018

Amazon's The Feed; HBO's Lovecraft Country; Hulu's Catch-22; Netflix's The Crown; Syfy's Channel Zero; and USA's The Sinner.

NETFLIX's THE CROWN
  • Jason Watkins has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming third season. His casting reunites him with series creator Peter Morgan after starring in his miniseries The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies. The new season also stars Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth, Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret.
  • He will play former British Prime Minister Harold Wilson.
SYFY's CHANNEL ZERO
  • Brandon Scott, Maria Sten, Steven Robertson and Steven Weber will star in the anthology's upcoming fourth season - which will be subtitled The Dream Door. The new season is based on the "creepypasta" short story Hidden Door by Charlotte Bywater.
  • Scott will play Tom Hodgson, Jillian's husband and childhood best friend, a capable and thoughtful man who is deeply in love with his wife. But he's troubled when secrets from their past threaten their marriage.
  • Sten will play Jillian Hope Hodgson, a landscape designer who has just married her childhood best friend. They've just moved into the house where he grew up - a house they hope to transform, through their combined skills, into their dream home.
  • Robertson will play Ian, Tom and Jillian's next door neighbor, an open-minded psychology grad student who becomes involved in their bizarre experience with the mysterious door in their basement.
  • Weber will play Abel Carnacki, Jillian's therapist. He has been listening to her long enough to know about her trust issues and where they stem from. His quiet, controlled, almost hard to read tone is sometimes infuriating for Jillian, especially when she tries to talk to him about what - or who - was behind the door in their basement.
HBO's LOVECRAFT COUNTRY
  • Wunmi Mosaku has been cast on the upcoming drama starring Jonathan Majors and Jurnee Smollett-Bell. She has recently starred in Showtime's Guerrilla, Netflix's The End of the F***ing World, Hulu's National Treasure: Kiri and the upcoming season of BBC America's Luther.
  • She will play Rudy Dandridge, a hustler just like her half-sister Leti (Smollett-Bell), only her hustles haven't paid off. Her family ties are tested when she's presented with an offer she can't refuse.
USA's THE SINNER
  • Carrie Coon, Natalie Paul and Hannah Gross will play the new leads opposite Bill Pullman on the drama's upcoming second season. Coon starred for three seasons in HBO's The Leftovers and the third season of FX's Fargo. Paul starred in the first season of HBO's The Deuce. Gross starred in the first season of Netflix's Mindhunter.
  • Coon will play Vera, a formidable and mysterious woman who struggles between upholding the ideals of the community she leads and fulfilling her own desires.
  • Paul will play Heather, a detective in training from Ambrose's (Pullman) hometown. She ends up calling Ambrose to consult on a double homicide with no clear motive.
  • Gross will play Marin, Heather's high school best friend who disappeared from town years ago in a cloud of mystery.
HULU's CATCH-22
  • Daniel David Stewart, Austin Stowell, Rafi Gavron, Graham Patrick Martin, Pico Alexander, Jon Rudnitsky, Gerran Howell and Lewis Pullman will co-star on the upcoming miniseries starring Kyle Chandler, Hugh Laurie and George Clooney.
  • Stewart (The Band's Visit) will play Milo, a quintessential Brooklyn native, possessed with the fierce determination and charm to bring his grand plans to fruition. He is a war profiteer who has figured out how to put himself in the Mess hall supervisor position in order to begin his trading syndicate. He is a definite charmer who can talk his way out of anything.
  • Stowell (Public Morals) will play Nately, Yossarian's (Christopher Abbott) closest friend. He is someone who had lived his young life without trauma and is in love with Clara, a prostitute in Rome.
  • Gavron (Counterpart) will play Aarfy, Yossarian's navigator who is frequently lost. When he starts recounting stories, we get a glimpse into his darker mind and soon see it manifest on a weekend away.
  • Martin (Major Crimes) will play Orr, Yossarian's tentmate and pilot of another plane in Yossarian's squadron. He is very well-liked and has a goofy demeanor. He is also a great handyman who has a specific skill set to see him through the war.
  • Alexander (A Most Violent Year) will play Clevinger, the pilot of another plane. He and Yossarian enjoy each other's company, yet each believes the other is a fool for holding the worldview he holds.
  • Rudnitsky (Saturday Night Live) will play McWatt, Yossarian's pilot. He is a prankster who in his spare time likes to fly too low to any and all structures. He thinks he understands how the world works and is not afraid to give his opinions about it.
  • Howell (Young Dracula) will play Kid Sampson, McWatt's shy, boyish co-pilot whose unspectacular and unremarkable life will end - spectacularly and remarkably - at McWatt's hands.
  • Pullman (Lean on Pete) will play Major Major, an Air Corps Cadet who later becomes Squadron Commander. He has never had friends and tries to figure out the best way to go unnoticed through the war.
AMAZON's THE FEED
  • David Thewlis, Michelle Fairley, Guy Burnet and Nina Toussaint White have landed the lead roles on the upcoming drama created by Channing Powell.
  • Thewlis (Fargo) will play Lawrence Hatfield, the man who invented an omnipresent technology called The Feed. Implanted into nearly everyone's brain, The Feed enables people to share information, emotions and memories instantly. But when things start to go wrong and users become murderous, Lawrence and his family is driven apart as they struggle to control the monster they have unleashed.
  • Fairley (Game of Thrones) will play Meredith, Lawrence's wife, the CEO of the powerful global mega-company which runs The Feed.
  • Burnet (Counterpart) will play Tom, Lawrence and Meredith's first-born son who was the subject of his father's early experiments on inserting the neural mesh that connects people to The Feed. Being his father's guinea pig has come at a cost to their relationship, and Tom is reluctant to use the seductive technology.
  • White (EastEnders) will play Kate, Tom's wife, a young American who shares his wariness to being constantly "on." When the young couple give birth to a baby daughter, it coincides to changes to The Feed that will have dramatic consequences for the whole world.
