TNT's 'The Last Ship' to End After 5 Seasons

TNT has finally confirmed today that the upcoming fifth season of the original drama series The Last Ship will be its final one. The drama will return for its last 10 episodes later in the summer.

Rumors started to swell about the fifth season being the last for The Last Ship for the past year. The cable network gave the drama a two-season renewal after its third season - with the fourth and fifth shooting back-to-back. As such, production has already wrapped on the final episodes. Moreover, several cast members were made available for this past pilot season at the broadcast networks - with Jocko Sims' drama pilot, New Amsterdam, being picked up to series at NBC.

The cast for the final season includes Eric Dane, Adam Baldwin, Bridget Regan, Charles Parnell, Travis Van Winkle, Marissa Neitling, Christina Elmore, Jocko Sims, Kevin Michael Martin, Bren Foster, Fay Masterson, Emerson Brooks and Jodie Turner-Smith.

Hank Steinberg and Steven L. Kane developed the drama, with Kane serving as sole showrunner for the final two seasons. They executive produced with Michael Bay, Jack Bender, Andrew Form, Brad Fuller and Jonathan Mostow. Studio T, Platinum Dunes and Channel Road Productions produce.
