Casting News - June 22, 2018
CBS' Happy Together; The CW's Legends of Tomorrow; Netflix's The Crown; and Showtime's Shameless.
NETFLIX's THE CROWN
- Newcomer Erin Doherty has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming third season starring Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies. Her guest credits include BBC's Call the Midwife and the upcoming miniseries Les Misérables.
- She will play Princess Anne, the daughter of Queen Elizabeth (Colman) and Prince Philip (Menzies).
SHOWTIME's SHAMELESS
- Dan Lauria and Ashley Romans have booked recurring roles on the dramedy's upcoming ninth season. Lauria recently starred for one season in FOX's Pitch and appeared on NBC's This Is Us. Romans has also recurred on Showtime's I'm Dying Up Here.
- Lauria will play Mo White, a disgraced ex-Congressman in his 60s. Frank (William H. Macy) helps him run for office again.
- Romans will play Alex, a tough 30-year-old who works at a construction site. Everyone thinks she's a man, but she's a woman.
CBS' HAPPY TOGETHER
- Victor Williams has been cast as a series regular on the upcoming comedy starring Damon Wayans Jr. and Amber Stevens West. His casting brings him back to CBS and the multi-camera format after starring for nine seasons in The King of Queens.
- He will play Gerald, Claire's (West) father, a former doctor who is fully enjoying retirement with his wife Bonnie. He replaces Tim Meadows, who played the role in the original pilot but was in first position to The Goldbergs spinoff Schooled.
THE CW's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
- Courtney Ford has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming fourth season. She joined the drama in a major recurring role throughout the third season. She is also married to original series star Brandon Routh.
- She plays Nora Darhk, the daughter of Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough). In the third season, she was helping her father release a time demon named Mallus into the world.
