Starz Renews 'Vida' for Season 2

Just a few days after airing its season finale, Starz has renewed its original half-hour drama series Vida for a second season. The series will likely return in 2019, though an episode count wasn't immediately announced.

The drama stars Melissa Barrera, Mishel Prada, Ser Anzoategui, Chelsea Rendon, Carlos Miranda and Maria Elena Laas.

Tanya Saracho created the series. She executive produces with Marc Turtletaub, Peter Saraf, Robin Schwartz and Stephanie Langhoff. Big Beach Television and Chingona Productions produce.

"Vida has delivered on its promise of attracting a young, new Latinx audience to the Starz platform, as we had hoped it would, and we are pleased to be able to announce a second season of the series," said Chris Albrecht, CEO, Starz. "With these new episodes, Tanya and her team now have the opportunity to take audiences even deeper into the lives and community of the Hernandez sisters, and we look forward to bringing the next chapter of their story to life."
