FOX's Star; HBO's The New Pope; Lifetime's American Princess; and Netflix's One Day at a Time.





HBO's THE NEW POPE
  • Jude Law and John Malkovich will star in the upcoming limited series which serves as a follow-up to 2017's The Young Pope. Law received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in the previous season. This casting marks Malkovich's latest move into television following a recurring role on Showtime's Billions and the lead role on Amazon's upcoming limited series The ABC Murders.
  • A logline for the new series as well as details on Malkovich's character were not immediately released. Production begins on the new episodes in November in Italy.
FOX's STAR
  • Brandy Norwood has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming third season. She appeared in five episodes of the second season. She previously starred in six seasons of UPN's Moesha and four seasons of BET's The Game. As a singer, she has received 12 Grammy nominations and won once.
  • She plays Cassie Brown, Carlotta's (Queen Latifah). The new season will feature a war between the sisters as they vie for control of the Atlanta music scene.
NETFLIX's ONE DAY AT A TIME
  • Raúl Castillo has booked a recurring role on the comedy's upcoming third season. His casting continues his relationship with Netflix after starring in the limited series Seven Seconds, recurring on Atypical, appearing in an episode of Easy and co-starring in the film Special Correspondents. He previously starred in HBO's Looking.
  • He will play Mateo, a dad friend of Penelope's (Justina Machado) from school who turns into something more.
LIFETIME's AMERICAN PRINCESS
  • Mimi Gianopulos, Helen Madelyn Kim, Tommy Dorfman and Erin Pineda have landed recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Georgia Flood.
  • Gianopulos (Baby Daddy) will play Morgan, Amanda's (Flood) dry and judgmental high school best friend. She is single and successful in her career as a branding consultant.
  • Kim (GLOW) will play Lexi, Korean-born, raised Jewish by her adoptive gay parents and one of Amanda's besties. She is sweet, shallow and not the sharpest tool in the shed.
  • Dorfman (13 Reasons Why) will play Nick, Amanda's gay bestie. His exquisite taste and sharp wit have solidified him as an influencer in the social media world.
  • Pineda (Major Crimes) will play Helen, a Rennie with a crazy streak. She's a hedonist and a wild woman who lives life to the fullest while traveling the Ren Faire circuit all year round.
