Casting News - Nestor Carbonell, Jaime Ray Newman and Josh Kelly to Recur on NBC's 'Midnight, Texas'; Plus 6 More Updates!

ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; The CW's Arrow, Black Lightning, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow & Supergirl; and NBC's Midnight, Texas.





THE CW's BLACK LIGHTNING
  • Jordan Calloway has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming second season. He recurred throughout the first season - appearing in six episodes. He has previously recurred on The CW's Riverdale and Freeform's Beyond.
  • He plays Khalil Payne, a high school track star until a bullet severed his spine, leaving him embittered and unable to walk. Tobias Whale (Marvin "Krondon" Jones III) offered him legs for loyalty. He accepted the offer and received cybernetic enhancements that transformed him into Painkiller, meta-strong and able to generate an anesthetic from his body that causes temporary paralysis when delivered through darts. 
ABC's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • Jeff Ward has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming sixth season. He joined the drama as recurring during its fifth season. He previously starred in Syfy's Channel Zero: No-End House.
  • He plays Deke Shaw, the scavenging grandson of Fitz (Iain de Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) from a dystopian future timeline.
NBC's MIDNIGHT, TEXAS
  • Nestor Carbonell, Jaime Ray Newman and Josh Kelly have been cast in recurring roles on the drama's upcoming second season. Carbonell starred for five seasons in A&E's Bates Motel. Newman starred in the first season of Netflix's The Punisher. Kelly starred for three seasons in Lifetime's UnREAL.
  • Carbonell and Newman will play Kai and Patience Lucero, the owners of Midnight's new hotel. Their sudden arrival in town causes a stir and has the Midnighters suspicious about what is really going on. Kai is a magnetic, holistic energy healer and Patience is his savvy and beautiful wife. Patience uses her charm to ingratiate herself to Midnight and takes an immediate liking to Manfred (François Arnaud).
  • Kelly will play Walker Chisum, an openly gay demon hunter who has an intense connection with resident angel Joe Strong (Jason Lewis). They develop a bond fighting demons. Driven by revenge and an undeniably intense attraction to one another, Walker will get Joe into more trouble than either expect.
THE CW's SUPERGIRL
  • Nicole Maines and April Parker Jones are set as new series regulars on the drama's upcoming fourth season. Moreover, David Ajala has landed a recurring roles. Maines' casting is significant because she will be playing television's first transgender superhero.
  • Maines (The Trans List) will play Nia Nal, the newest addition to the CatCo reporting team. A soulful young transgender woman with a fierce drive to protect others, her journey means fulfilling her destiny as the superhero Dreamer.
  • Jones (If Loving You Is Wrong) will play Colonel Haley, a hardline military woman who lives and dies by the orders of her commanding officers. Dedicated to her country, she always acts in its best interest - even if it's not her own.
  • Ajala (Falling Water) will play Manchester Black, the type of guy who brings a knife to a gunfight and still walks away the winner. With a dark past, he easily deflects the brutality of his mission with his charm and sense of humor.
THE CW's ARROW
  • Holly Elissa, Michael Jonsson and Miranda Edwards have joined the cast of the drama's upcoming seventh season. They will play the lethal Longbow Hunters, a legendary group of assassins who are recruited by Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) to exact his revenge on Oliver (Stephen Amell) and the team after they took down his burgeoning criminal empire.
  • Moreover, returning guest stars in the upcoming season include Michael Jai White (as Bronze Tiger), Cody Runnels (as Derek Sampson) and Vinnie Jones (as Danny "Brick" Brickwell). All three all held behind bars in the Slabside Maximum Security Prison alongside Oliver.
THE CW's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
  • Ramona Young has booked a series regular role on the drama's upcoming fourth season. She has previously recurred on ABC's The Real O'Neals and Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet. Moreover, Tom Wilson will recur on the upcoming season. He is best known for his role in the Back to the Future film franchise.
  • Young will play Alaska Yu, a typical twenty-something easily swept up by romantic notions and fantasy novels. She's something of an expert in the world of the magical creatures that the Legends encounter. In the company of the Legends, she soon learns to get her head out of the clouds to become a kickass superhero.
  • Wilson will play Hank Heywood, Nate's (Nick Zano) father. With a lifetime in the military and Department of Defense, he is part of a long line of Heywoods to serve the country. Charming and charismatic, he's left big shoes for Nate to fill - and it doesn't help that Nate can't tell him he's secretly a Legend.
THE CW's THE FLASH
  • Chris Klein will play the new big bad for the drama's upcoming fifth season. He is known for starring in the American Pie film franchise. He also had a recurring role on FXX's Wilfred.
  • He will play Cicada, a grizzled, blue-collar everyman whose family has been torn apart by metahumans. He now seeks to exterminate the epidemic - one metahuman at a time.
