Netflix Orders 10 Episodes of Drama 'Mixtape' Starring Madeleine Stowe and Jenna Dewan

This continues to be the year of shows and pilots moving from one network to another. Today, Netflix has announced a 10-episode series order for the drama pilot Mixtape, which was passed over at FOX in May.

The romantic musical drama looks at the love stories connecting a diverse, disparate group of people in contemporary Los Angeles through the music that lives inside their hearts and minds.

The majority of the cast from the original pilot have closed deals to return for the series on Netflix. That includes Madeline Stowe, Jenna Dewan, Callie Hernandez, Campbell Scott, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Jahmil French, Megan Ferguson and Evan Whitten.

Raúl Castillo played one of the male leads in the pilot but the role is now being recast. However, he will still soon be seen on Netflix as he just booked a recurring role on the third season of One Day at a Time.

Joshua Safran wrote the pilot, which was directed by Jesse Peretz. They executive produce with Megan Ellison, Sue Naegle and Ali Krug. 20th Century Fox Television, Fox 21 Television Studios and Annapurna Pictures produce.
