Amazon Sets Premiere Date for New Anthology 'The Romanoffs' Created by Matthew Weiner

During its presentation at the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Amazon announced the premiere date for the upcoming anthology series The Romanoffs.






All eight episodes of the first season season will debut on Friday, October 12.

The series is a contemporary anthology exploring people who believe themselves to be descendants of the murdered Russian royal family, the Romanoffs. Shot on location in three continents and seven conutries using local productions and creative team, the series will venture Europe, the Americas and the Far East. Each story takes place in a new location with a new cast.

Actors appearing in the first season include Diane Lane, Aaron Eckhart, Isabelle Huppert, Marthe Keller, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, Jack Huston, Amanda Peet, Corey Stoll, Andrew Rannells, Mike Doyle, JJ Feild, Janet Montgomery, Paul Reiser, Noah Wyle, Kathryn Hahn, Kerry Bishé, Jay R. Ferguson, Ben Miles, Mary Kay Place, Griffin Dunne, Cara Buono, Ron Livingston, Jon Tenney, Clea DuVall, Radha Mitchell, Hugh Skinner, Juan Pablo Castañeda, Emily Rudd, Adele Anderson, Annet Mahendru, Louise Bourgoin, Hera Hilmar and Inés Melab.

Matthew Weiner created, wrote and directed the series. He executive produces with Semi Chellas. Kriss Turner Towner, Blake McCormick and Kathy Ciric are co-executive producers. Andre and Maria Jacquemetton serve as consulting producers.
