ABC has today given a series order to the original drama series Reef Break starring Poppy Montgomery (Unforgettable, Without a Trace). The first season will feature 13 episodes and debut in summer 2019.
Montgomery stars as Cat Chambers, a former thief turned fixer for the governor of a Pacific island paradise. The impulsive, reckless and irresistible Cat has an instinctive gift for understanding criminals, thanks to her own past, and uses that instinct to help solve problems on the island.
Additional characters include Cat's FBI agent ex-husband, an imprisoned crime boss who has history with her, and a detective/lover who is in over his head.
Based on an idea by Montgomery, Ken Sanzel developed the series and will serve as showrunner. He executive produces with Montgomery. ABC Studios and ABC Studios International produce in partnership with French broadcaster M6.
