Development News - Kaitlin Olson and Rob Riggle to Star in Untitled FOX Comedy Pilot; Plus 1 More Update!

Development News - August 2, 2018

FOX's Untitled McElhenney/Rosell; and USA's Erase.

USA's ERASE
  • Donald Faison and Eric Nelsen will co-star on the drama pilot written by and starring Denis Leary. Faison starred for nine seasons in NBC/ABC's Scrubs and four seasons in TV Land's The Exes. Nelsen's film credits include A Walk Among the Tombstones and Coming Through the Rye.
  • Faison will play Raffi Dumauge, Donal's (Leary) ex-partner and closest friend. Now retired from the NYPD, he has reinvented himself as a family man.
  • Nelsen will play Sean O'Neal, Donal's son who works as a DJ a couple nights a week, surrounded by booze and blow in a Long Island club, raking in enough cash to put a strut in his step. At this rate, he risks heading down the same path as his father.
FOX's UNTITLED ROB MCELHENNEY & ROB ROSELL PROJECT
  • Kaitlin Olson and Rob Riggle will star opposite Leah Remini on the comedy pilot written by Rob McElhenney and Rob Rosell. Olson's casting brings her back to FOX after her comedy The Mick was canceled earlier this year after two seasons. She also stars in FXX's long-running comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which returns for Season 13 in September. Riggle has previously recurred on ABC's Modern Family and TBS' Angie Tribeca. He next stars in Sony Crackle's Ski Master Academy.
  • The pilot centers on Jean (Remini), a patriot who loves her country and firmly believes in everyone's right to be left alone. Jean in many ways fits the stereotype of a typical conservative. However, she leads a very progressive lifestyle as she is now married to a woman, Birdie (Olson). Together they're raising Jean's two boys with the help of the boys' father and Jean's ex-husband, Richie (Riggle), who currently lives in the garage.
