Amazon Renews 'Absentia' for Season 2

Amazon has picked up the U.S. and select international broadcast rights for the upcoming second season of the original drama series Absentia starring Stana Katic. Production on the new episodes has now begun in Bulgaria for a premiere in 2019.





In the new season, after tracking down and killing her abductor, Emily (Katic) struggles for a tenuous new normal with her son and ex-husband. But her obsessive investigation into the questiosn that haunt her uncovers a serial killer and a spiraling conspiracy that threatens more than just her family.

In addition to Katic, the drama stars Patrick Heusinger, Cara Theobold, Neil Jackson, Angel Bonanni, Paul Freeman, Patrick McAuley, Natasha Little and Matthew Le Nevez.

Gaia Violo and Matt Cirulnick created the drama. They executive produce with Katic, Julie Glucksman, Maria Feldman and Oded Ruskin. Sony Pictures Television produces.
