Casting News - Josh Segarra and Tia Carrere to Co-Star on 'AJ and the Queen'; JR Bourne Joins 'The 100'; Plus 4 More Updates!

The CW's The 100, Arrow & Black Lightning; Epix's Godfather of Harlem; FOX's Proven Innocent; and Netflix's AJ and the Queen.





NETFLIX's AJ AND THE QUEEN
  • Josh Segarra, Michael-Leon Wooley, Katerina Tannenbaum and Tia Carrere will co-star on the upcoming hourlong comedy series starring RuPaul.
  • Segarra (Arrow) will play Hector, Ruby's (RuPaul) boyfriend who has a dark and dangerous side.
  • Wooley (The Princess and the Frog) will play Louis, a blind drag queen.
  • Tannenbaum (Sweetbitter) will play Brianna, a clueless hooker with a deep connection to AJ.
  • Carrere (Lilo and Stitch) will play Lady Danger, a comic villain who is infamous in the local drag scene for injecting cheap silicone into her clients at the club.
EPIX's GODFATHER OF HARLEM
  • Nigél Thatch has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Forest Whitaker and Vincent D'Onofrio. He starred for one season in The CW's Valor. He also appeared in the film Selma.
  • He will play Malcolm X, a former Harlem hustler who becomes the prime spokesman for the Nation of Islam and a worldwide icon. His fierce advocacy of eye-for-an-eye violence against white oppression has made him a lightning rod in the civil rights movement, loved by some, hated by many. His former street mentor Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker) will become his closest friend, confidant and protector against a score of enemies.
THE CW's THE 100
  • JR Bourne has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming sixth season. He appeared in all six seasons of MTV's Teen Wolf. He has also recurred in ABC's Somewhere Between, USA's Falling Water and ABC's Revenge.
  • He will play Russell, the charismatic and visionary leader of a peaceful society. He will face difficult moral choices and develop a complicated relationship with Clarke (Eliza Taylor).
THE CW's ARROW
  • Katherine McNamara has landed a recurring role on the drama's upcoming seventh season. She has starred for three seasons in Freeform's Shadowhunters - which returns with its final episodes in Spring 2019.
  • She will play Maya, a scrappy street fighter and thief from Star City.
FOX's PROVEN INNOCENT
  • Laurie Holden is set for a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Rachelle Lefevre and Kelsey Grammer. She starred for three seasons in AMC's The Walking Dead. She also recurred for two seasons in FX's The Americans.
  • She will play Greta Bellows, the wife of Gore Bellows (Grammer). She is shrewd and sexy; a Lady Macbeth type. Smooth and driven, she's got her eyes on the prize and wants her husband to win the Attorney General race, possibly even more than he does.
THE CW's BLACK LIGHTNING
  • Kearran Giovanni has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She previously starred for six seasons in TNT's Major Crimes.
  • She will Cutter, a smart, proud, tough and beautiful woman more than able to best a man in combat - a mercenary trained by British intelligence.
