Hulu Orders 10 Episodes of Animated Comedy 'Crossing Swords' Starring Nicholas Hoult

Hulu has today given a series order to the original animated comedy series Crossing Swords with a voice cast led by Nicholas Hoult (X-Men). The stop-motion series will produce 10 episodes for its first season.

The comedy centers on Patrick (Hoult), a goodhearted peasant who lands a covet squire position at the royal castle. His dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when he learns his beloved kingdom is run by a hornet's nest of horny monarchs, crooks and charlatans. Even worse, Patrick's valor made him the black sheep in his family, and now his criminal siblings have returned to make his life hell. War, murder, full frontal nudity - who knew brightly colored peg people led such exciting lives?

In addition to Hoult, the voice cast includes Luke Evans, Seth Green, Breckin Meyer, Tony Hale, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Adam Pally, Adam Ray, Tara Strong and Alanna Ubach.

Robot Chicken's Tom Root and John Harvatine IV created the comedy. They will executive produce with Green, Matthew Senreich and Eric Towner. Sony Pictures Television and Stoopid Buddy Stoodios will produce.
