'Younger' Moves to Paramount Network for Season 6; Darren Star's New Dramedy 'Emily in Paris' Also Ordered

Paramount Network is doubling down on Darren Star. Today, it's been announced that the upcoming sixth season of the original comedy series Younger will air on Paramount after its first five seasons on TV Land. Moreover, the cable channel has given a series order to the new original comedy series Emily in Paris created by Star.

Paramount Network will begin airing the new episodes of Younger's previously announced sixth season in Spring 2018. Emily in Paris will debut in Summer 2019. Both shows will be part of the network's Thursday dramedy night that will launch in January 2018 with the First Wives Club reboot from Tracy Oliver.

"With Darren's proven history as a hitmaker and Tracy Oliver's fresh voice and perspective, we see a tremendous opportunity to build Thursday nights as destination viewing for fun female-driven dramedies," said Keith Cox, President of Development and Originals, Paramount Network, TV Land and CMT. "Younger is a huge hit with a passionate fanbase that's the perfect centerpiece to this lineup."

"I am thrilled to be continuing my journey with Younger and now Emily in Paris on the Paramount Network," added Star. "Keith and his entire team inspire me with their passion and enthusiasm."

Emily in Paris revolves around 20-something Emily, an American from the Midwest who moves to Paris for an unexpected job opportunity who is tasked with bringing her American point of view to a French marketing firm.

Star created the new series. He executive produces with Tony Hernandez. Jax Media produces.
