Casting News - Charlie Plummer and Kristine Froseth to Play Lead Roles in Hulu's 'Looking for Alaska'; Plus 8 More Updates!

Amazon's The Man in the High Castle; Epix's Pennyworth; FOX's Gotham; Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale & Looking for Alaska; NBC's Chicago Fire & Good Girls; and Netflix's Designated Survivor & Mr. Iglesias.

  • Charlie Plummer and Kristine Froseth will play the lead roles on the upcoming limited series based on the book of the same name. Plummer starred in the 2017 film All the Money in the World. Froseth starred in the Netflix movie Sierra Burgess is a Loser.
  • Plummer will play Miles "Pudge" Halter, a teenager from Florida who enrolls at a prestigious boarding school in Alabama hoping to find a deeper perspective on life. He discovers that Culver Creek Academy isn't that different from his old high school, except for the clique of outcasts that instantly accepts him.
  • Froseth will play Alaska Young, who's mercurial, unpredictable and instantly attractive to Miles. She's also hiding a troubled past. When she dies unexpectedly, Miles and his new friends will try to make sense of what happened.
  • Jaime Murray has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming fifth and final season. She previously starred for three seasons in Syfy's Defiance. She has also recurred on Showtime's Dexter, Syfy's Warehouse 13, ABC's Once Upon a Time and The CW's The Originals.
  • She will play Theresa Walker, Jim Gordon's (Ben McKenzie) new nemesis who comes to Gotham harboring a dark secret about her past.
  • Megyn Price and Coy Stewart have booked recurring roles on the upcoming comedy co-created by and starring Gabriel Iglesias. Price starred for six seasons in CBS' Rules of Engagement and has recurred on Netflix's The Ranch. Stewart has previously recurred on ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and NBC's The Blacklist.
  • Price will Jessica Dobbs, a single mother in recovery who befriends Gabe (Iglesias) at their AA meetings.
  • Stewart will play Lorenzo, a conspiracy-obsessed student who doubts the legitimacy of the moon landing and the lone gunman theory of the Kennedy assassination. He ardently believes Tupac Shakur is still alive and will prove it if the government doesn't silence him first.
  • Jason Flemyng has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Jack Bannon and Ben Aldridge. He starred for one season in Starz's The Missing and two seasons in Sky One's Jamestown.
  • He will play Lord Harwood, an upper-class Englishman and the partner to villain Bet Sykes (Paloma Faith). He is cultured, urbane, brilliant and supremely sure of himself with a sadistic, cruel nature and a veneer of charm.
  • Jordan Belfi has landed a recurring role on the drama's seventh season. He is best known for his recurring role on HBO's Entourage. He can also currently be seen recurring on The CW's All American.
  • He will play Gordon, an intelligent, hot-headed and privileged businessman who is fierce in the boardroom.
  • Lauren Stamile is set for a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She starred in USA's one-season drama Complications. She has also recurred on NBC's Chicago Fire and ABC's Grey's Anatomy.
  • She will play Gretchen Zorada, a confident, intelligent and pedigreed defense attorney working on Rio's (Manny Montana) case.
  • Ashleigh LaThrop has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. She starred in the films Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. She next appears in a recurring role on Netflix's The Kominsky Method.
  • She will play Ofmatthew, a devoted Handmaid whose fidelity to Gilead causes friction amongst her peers.
  • Bruce Locke, David Sakurai and Carter MacIntyre have booked recurring roles on the drama's upcoming fourth season. Locke previously had a recurring role on CBS' NCIS. Sakurai appears in a recurring role on YouTube Premium's upcoming drama Origin. MacIntyre starred for one season in Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva.
  • Locke will play Governor General Yamori, the new leader of the JPS. He is a hard line realist, determined to maintain Japan's forceful presence in America. He's coming into conflict with the Crown Princess and Admiral Inokuchi (Eijiro Ozaki) who are daring to contemplate withdrawal from the territory, something Yamori would rather die than allow to happen. This conflict will drive a wedge between the Emperor and the army.
  • Sakurai will play Colonel Saito, a long-serving Japanese Army officer and Aide da Camp to General Yamori. He has seen service in China, the Pacific and Southeast Asia. He came to the JPS as part of Yamori's personal detachment. He is a hardliner and fiercely loyal to his general. When Yamori is arrested by Kido (Joel de la Fuente), Saito takes it on himself to surround the Kempeitai headquarters and demand his general's release.
  • MacIntyre will play Russ Gilmore, a new friend of Juliana's (Alexa Davalos).
  • Elena Tovar has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming third season - its first on the streaming service. She has previously had recurring roles on ABC's General Hospital and The CW's Dynasty.
  • She will play Isabel, the White House Director of Social Innovation.
