Casting News - Kyle Schmid to Co-Star on 'The I-Land'; Emmett J. Scanlan to Play Lobo on 'Krypton'; Plus 4 More Updates!

The CW's Black Lightning; Netflix's Dead to Me, The I-Land & Mr. Iglesias; Syfy's Krypton; and TNT's Snowpiercer.





TNT's SNOWPIERCER
  • Aaron Glenane, Fiona Vroom and Kerry O'Malley have been cast in recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs. Glenane recurred in Amazon's Picnic at Hanging Rock. Vroom has had recurring roles on Netflix's Altered Carbon and Amazon's The Man in the High Castle. O'Malley starred in A&E's one season drama Those Who Kill.
  • Glenane will play The Last Australian, a scrappy tailie charmer from Perth with an intense desire to survive because as far as he knows, he is the Last Australian.
  • Vroom will play Miss Gillies, an encouraging and well-rounded school teacher who is responsible for educating Snowpiercer's next generation.
  • O'Malley will play Lilah Folger, a former corporate lawyer who came from old money. She fiercely protects her own, in particular her daughter LJ (Annalise Basso) and the rest of first class with whom she shares a vested interest in maintaining their security and privilege.
NETFLIX's DEAD TO ME
  • Sam McCarthy has booked a series regular role on the upcoming comedy starring Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. He has previously recurred on Audience Network's Condor.
  • He will play Charlie, Jen's (Applegate) older and edgier son. Like his mom, he harbors a simmering anger as he tries to grapple with the sudden loss of his dad.
NETFLIX's MR. IGLESIAS
  • Fabrizio Guido is set as a series regular on the upcoming comedy created by and starring Gabriel Iglesias. He starred in NBC's one-season comedy Welcome to the Family.
  • He will play Mikey Gutierrez, one of the at-risk students Gabe (Iglesias) is dedicated to protecting. He is a sweet, clueless kid who will spend the school year trying to impress his crush Marisol while navigating the hallway bullies.
NETFLIX's THE I-LAND
  • Kyle Schmid will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Kate Bosworth, Natalie Martinez and Alex Pettyfer. He starred for two seasons in History's Six and two seasons in BBC America's Copper.
  • He will play Moses, a bit of a hippie who has a generally laid-back vibe, even in the face of real danger.
SYFY's KRYPTON
  • Emmett J. Scanlan will play a major role on the drama's upcoming second season. His television credits include Netflix's Safe, NBC's A.D.: The Bible Continues and Netflix's The Fall.
  • He will play Lobo, a ruthless bounty hunter who murdered his entire species. He possesses a genius level intellect when it comes to matters of warfare, making him a deadly adversary. Imbued with a superhuman strength, and virtually immortal, Lobo will keep coming until the job is finished. His word is the only thing Lobo holds sacred. Although he'll never violate the letter of an agreement, he might disregard its spirit from time to time.
THE CW's BLACK LIGHTNING
  • Erika Alexander has landed a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She starred for five seasons in FOX's Living Single. She has recently recurred on HBO's Insecure and Amazon's Bosch.
  • She will play Perenna, a telepathic therapist. She will try to help Jennifer (China Anne McClain) acclimate to her manifesting powers and the emotions that go along with them. While her dad (Cress Williams) and sister (Nafessa Williams) have taken to fighting crime, Jennifer has been more reluctant to embrace her new reality.
