Cinemax Cancels 'Outcast' After Two Seasons

Cinemax has opted to cancel its original drama series Outcast after two seasons, it was announced today. The drama aired its final episode on September 28, 2018.

The drama starred Patrick Fugit, Philip Glenister, Wrenn Schmidt, Kate Lyn Sheil, Julia Crockett, Madeleine McGraw, Brent Spiner and Reg E. Cathey.

Robert Kirkman created the drama based on his comic of the same name. He executive produced with showrunner Chris Black, David Alpert, Sue Naegle and Sharon Tal Yguado. Fox International Studios, Skybound Entertainment and Circle of Confusion produced.

A third season renewal was considered a long shot for the drama as the second season was produced two years ago - with it airing outside the United States last year. That also meant that all of the options on the cast expired awhile ago. The drama was said to be a pricey original series for Cinemax, which has shifted its programming strategy to international co-productions.
