Netflix and BBC Team for Drama 'Dracula' Created by 'Sherlock' Team

Netflix and the BBC have today announced a partnership to produce the original drama series Dracula created by Sherlock's Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss. The first season will feature three 90-minute episodes.

Inspired by Bram Stoker's classic novel, the drama will begin in Transylvania in 1897 where the blood-drinking Dracula is drawing up his plans against Victorian London.

Moffat and Gatiss will executive produce with Sue Vertue, Ben Irving and Larry Tanz. BBC Studios and Hartswood Films will produce.

"There have always been stories about great evil," said Moffat and Gatiss. "What's special about Dracula is that Bram Stoker gave evil its own hero."
