Netflix's expansion of adult animated comedies continues today with a series order for Hoops with Jake Johnson (New Girl) leading the voice cast. The first season will feature 10 episodes.
The comedy revolves around a hot-headed, foul-mouthed high school basketball coach, Ben Hopkins (Johnson), who thinks turning around his God-awful team will take him to the "big leagues."
Ben Hoffman (Archer, New Girl) created the comedy. He will executive produce with Johnson, Phil Lord, Chris Miller and Seth Cohen. 20th Century Fox Television and Lord Miller Productions will produce.
Hoops will join an adult animated slate at Netflix that includes BoJack Horseman, Big Mouth, Disenchantment, F Is For Family, Paradise PD and Tuca and Bertie.
