DC Universe's Swamp Thing; FOX's Proven Innocent & Star; and Netflix's Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City & Dolly Parton's Heartstrings.
NETFLIX's DOLLY PARTON'S HEARTSTRINGS
- Julianne Hough, Kimberly Williams-Paisley and Dallas Roberts will star opposite Dolly Parton in an upcoming episode of the anthology series. Their episode will be based on the classic song "Jolene." Hough is a two-time winner and later judge of ABC's Dancing With the Stars. She also starred in FOX's Grease: Live. Williams-Paisley starred for six seasons in ABC's According to Jim and also recurred on ABC's Nashville. Roberts currently stars in Netflix's controversial dramedy Insatiable, which was renewed for a second season.
- Parton will play Babe, a sparkly force of nature and the proud proprietor of Baby Blue's, a local honky tonk with a notorious reputation for its scantily-clad waitresses and eclectic crowd. Babe plays mother hen to all her waitresses, but none are closer to her than Jolene.
- Hough will play Jolene, a flirtatious free-spirit with aspirations of escaping her small hometown of Coventry, Georgia to follow her dreams of becoming a successful singer-songwriter.
- Williams-Paisley will play Emily, a devoted wife and mother who starts a new chapter of her life as the president of the Coventry's Women's League. In her search for personal fulfillment and purpose, she's pulled into Jolene's orbit.
- Roberts will play Aaron, a loving husband and father wrestling with the marathon of marriage as well as the imminent threat of a mid-life crisis.
FOX's STAR
- Draya Michele has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's third season. Her film credits include We Belong Together, All In and Perfect Match.
- She will play Chloe David, a sexy, savvy and successful social media strategist who is not afraid to chase the big stories or abandon the boring ones. Blunt and pragmatic, she has a sixth sense for what will catch the public consciousness.
FOX's PROVEN INNOCENT
- Candice Coke has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Rachelle Lefevre and Kelsey Grammer. She has previously recurred on FOX's Bones, NBC's Days of Our Lives and BET's The Game.
- She will play Wren, a hardened female prisoner. When around loved ones, she lets her guard down. She's a good listener, but don't try and double-cross her.
NETFLIX's ARMISTEAD MAUPIN'S TALES OF THE CITY
- Molly Ringwald has joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Laura Linney and Ellen Page. Her film credits include the iconic '80s films Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink. In TV, she starred for four seasons in ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager and currently recurs on The CW's Riverdale.
- No details were immediately released about the character she will be playing.
DC UNIVERSE's SWAMP THING
- Virginia Madsen will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Crystal Reed. She received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Sideways. In television, she recurred on ABC's Designated Survivor and next appears in the Epix limited series The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair.
- She will play Maria Sunderland, who traded in her privileged upbringing for the swamps of Marais when she married local business magnate Avery Sunderland. However, Avery's life-time obsession with the swamp has driven a wedge between them. Her poised existence is shaken further when the return of Abby Arcane (Reed) reawakens a deep grief over the loss of Maria's daughter, Shawna, drawing her into the dark supernatural mysteries emerging from the swamp.
