Casting News - November 16, 2018

CBS' Instinct; The CW's Supergirl; FOX's Empire & Star; NBC's The Village; and TNT's Claws.

THE CW's SUPERGIRL
  • Jon Cryer will play the iconic villain Lex Luthor in a recurring role on the drama's fourth season. He previously starred for twelve seasons in CBS' Two and a Half Men, where he won two Emmy Awards for his performance. Since then, he has guest starred on CBS' NCIS, Netflix's The Ranch, YouTube Premium's Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television and NBC's Will & Grace.
  • "We are enormous fans of Jon Cryer, and he was instantly our dream actor to play the iconic role of Lex Luthor," said Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller, co-showrunners of Supergirl. "Jon is a super-talent, and the fact that he played Lenny Luthor in Superman IV brings an added layer of legacy to his casting. We're beyond thrilled to welcome Jon to the Supergirl family."
FOX's EMPIRE
  • Alicia Coppola has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's fifth season. She starred for two seasons in CBS' Jericho and has recurred on Showtime's Shameless. She next stars in CBS' upcoming drama Blood & Treasure.
  • She will play a smart, flamboyant attorney investigating Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) and international money launderer Damon Cross (Wood Harris). She'll do almost anything for big target convictions because she believes they'll take her to the Governor's mansion and then the White House.
FOX's STAR
  • Tammi Mac has booked a recurring role on the drama's third season. She appeared in the web series American Koko and the BET film Her Only Choice.
  • She will play Aunt Ginny, GiGi's (Keke Palmer) overbearing aunt, manager and head of family and entourage. She once had a singing career of her own, but spiraled due to her drug addiction.
TNT's CLAWS
  • Evan Daigle has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming third season. Furthermore, Rebecca Creskoff and Michael Horse have landed recurring roles. Daigle has recurred throughout the dramedy's first two seasons. Creskoff starred for three seasons in HBO's Hung. Horse starred for two seasons in ABC's Twin Peaks and returned for the Showtime revival.
  • Daigle plays Toby, Uncle Daddy's (Dean Norris) right-hand man and favorite boy toy.
  • Creskoff will play Melba Locklear, a Sarasota native who was a child model for catalogs and print campaigns throughout the southeast. This transitioned into beauty pageants and ultimately a meteorologist gig on the local news. An on-air, obscenity-strewn meltdown then cost Melba her career in journalism. A lengthy rehabilitation followed, during which she met Mac, who was battling a cocaine addiction. They married shortly thereafter. Today, she is the picture of a Sarasota mover and shaker.
  • Horse will play Mac Locklear, Melba's husband. Affable, always nattily dressed in bespoke suits, he is a dashing Native American male who is involved in the seedy/glamorous world of Florida gaming. At face value, Mac and Melba are respectable pillars of Sarasota business community with their profitable casino, Bayside Rapture, which is affiliated with the obscure, recently recognized Tuptee tribe of central Florida. He's a man with many secrets.
NBC's THE VILLAGE
  • Nadine Nicole is set for a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Lorraine Toussaint. She has recently recurred on Hulu's Casual and Syfy's The Expanse.
  • She will play a war widow who becomes a love interest for Nick (Warren Christie).
CBS' INSTINCT
  • Reshma Shetty has joined the drama's upcoming second season in a recurring role. She previously starred for eight seasons in USA's Royal Pains.
  • She will play Maya, a glamorous old love of Julian's (Naveen Andrews) who comes back into his life with a proposal he cannot resist.
