Casting News - Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson to Star in Netflix's 'Virgin River'; Plus 4 More Updates!

NBC's Will & Grace; and Netflix's Dolly Parton's Heartstrings, Locke & Key, Spinning Out & Virgin River.

  • Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O'Toole, Jenny Cooper, David Cubitt, Lexa Doig, Daniel Gillies, Lauren Hammersley, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Colin Lawrence and Ian Tracey will star in the upcoming drama created by Sue Tenney.
  • Breckenridge (This Is Us) will play Melinda Monroe, a woman desperate to move on from her painful past who relocates from Los Angeles to the small Northern California town of Virgin River and takes a job as a nurse practitioner.
  • Henderson (Grey's Anatomy) will play Jack Sheridan, a sharp-witted ex-Marine commander who moved to Virgin River after his service was over in search of a peaceful life, far away from the horrors of war
  • Matheson (Hart of Dixie) will play Doc Mullins. Set in his ways and a bit of a curmudgeon, he's not keen on working with anyone including Mel, who he views as a challenge to his authority.
  • O'Toole (Smallville) will play Hope McCrea, Virgin River's brash and blunt mayor - a little rough around the edges, but her saving grave is her love for the town and her mission to preserve it.
  • Cooper (Open Heart) will play Joey Barnes, Mel's charming older sister, advisor, trusted confidante and best firned.
  • Cubitt (Medium) will play Calvin, the unquestioned leader of the largest of the many illegal pot fields that litter the landscape around Virgin River.
  • Doig (The Arrangement) will play Paige Lassiter, a local entrepreneur and an illustrious baker with a warm smile who has secrets of her own.
  • Gillies (The Originals) will play Mark, Mel's first love, strikingly handsome and accomplished, a surgeon in the Los Angeles ER where Mel worked.
  • Hammersley (Orphan Black) will play Charmaine Roberts, an attractive hair stylist from nearby Clear River, and competition for Jack's attention.
  • Hollingsworth (Code Black) will play Dan Brady, another former Marine under Jack's command, who differs from Preacher in almost every way.
  • Lawrence (Riverdale) will play John "Preacher" Middleton, Jack's best friend who served in the military together.
  • Tracey (Bates Motel) will play Jimmy, Calvin's lieutenant and enforcer, anyone unfortunate enough to incur Calvin's wrath is inevitably forced to deal with Jimmy.
  • Colin O'Donoghue, Willa Fitzgerald, David Denman, Mac Davis and Vanessa Rubio will appear in an upcoming episode of the anthology based on Dolly Parton's songs. O'Donoghue starred for six seasons in ABC's Once Upon a Time. Fitzgerald starred for two seasons in MTV's Scream. Denman starred for two seasons in NBC's The Office. Davis is a country music singer and songwriter. Rubio has recurred on YouTube Premium's Cobra Kai.
  • They will appear in the episode "JJ Sneed" written by Jim Strain and directed by Terry McDonough. Set in the 1880s, the episode centers around a feisty young woman trapped in a mundane existence who dreams of more, until a seductive outlaw pulls her into the adventure of a lifetime.
  • Evan Roderick will play the male lead on the upcoming drama starring Kaya Scodelario. He has currently been appearing in a recurring role on The CW's Arrow.
  • He will play Justin, whose party-boy antics have long been overlooked due to his Olympic-level skating abilities. When he teams up with Kat (Scodelario), he finds he has finally met his match on and off the ice.
  • Connor Jessup and Emilia Jones have booked lead roles on the upcoming drama based on the comic by Joe Hill. Jessup starred for five seasons in TNT's Falling Skies and two seasons in ABC's American Crime. Jones starred for two seasons in Channel 4's Utopia.
  • After the gruesome murder of their father, siblings Tyler (Jessup), Kinsey (Jones) and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott) move to their ancestral home in Massachusetts only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.
  • Reid Scott will guest star in an upcoming episode of the comedy's tenth season. He is currently a series regular on HBO's Veep - which returns with its seventh and final season in 2019.
  • He will play Marcus, a revered chef who in the midst of embarking on a sabbatical from his high-stress career runs into Grace (Debra Messing) at the airport - and tempts her to join him.
