WGN America and Canada's CTV have renewed the original dramedy series Carter for a second season. Production on the new episodes will begin in North Bay, Ontario this spring.
In the new season, Carter plants roots as a celebrity P.I. and doubles down on his fame in a world where life continues to imitate TV. But Carter will discover that the toughest cases to solve are personal ones when he finds himself embroiled in a love triangle with his best friend and her new boss, where the stakes are winner takes all.
The cast includes Jerry O'Connell, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Varun Saranga, Matt Baram, Brenda Kamino and Kristian Bruun.
Garry Campbell created the series, with Andy Berman joining the second season as showrunner. They executive produce with O'Connell, Teza Lawrence, Scott Smith, Michael Souther and John Tinker. Sony Pictures Television, Amaze Film + Entertainment and Bell Media produce.
"Carter and Jerry O'Donnell are beloved by viewers and critics alike," said Gavin Harvey, President, WGN America. "This show is the perfect mix of procedural drama and witty comedy, and we look forward to seeing how its story further unfolds."
