Netflix Renews 'Sex Education' for Season 2

Just three weeks after releasing its first season, Netflix has today renewed its original comedy series Sex Education for a second season. Production on the eight-episode second season will begin in the spring in the U.K.

The comedy stars Asa Butterfield, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Connor Swindells, Kedar Williams-Stirling, Alistair Petrie, Mimi Keene, Aimee Lou Wood, Chaneil Kular, Simone Ashley, Tanya Reynolds, Mikael Persbrandt, Patricia Allison and James Purefoy.

Laurie Nunn created the comedy. She executive produces with Jamie Campbell and Ben Taylor. Eleven Films produce.

"Laurie Nunn has captured the awkward teenage experience with a lot of heart and humor in Sex Education," said Cindy Holland, Vice President of Originals, Netflix. "Along with the Eleven team and executive producer and director Ben Taylor, she's created a universally relatable series that has resonated with our members around the world."

"The reception to season one has been so exciting," added Nunn. "Seeing how people across the world have connected to characters that began as ideas in my head is incredible. I'm hugely grateful to every person that has taken the time to watch the series, and I can't wait to continue this amazing journey."
