Casting News - March 29, 2019

Amazon's Utopia; CBS' NCIS: Los Angeles; CBS All Access' Why Women Kill; and NBC's Law & Order: SVU.

AMAZON's UTOPIA
  • Javon "Wanna" Walton will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Sasha Lane and Rainn Wilson. He appears in a recurring role on HBO's upcoming drama Euphoria. He is also a five-time Georgia state boxing champion and four-time USA Boxing SouthEast regional champion boxer.
  • He will play Grant, who is streetwise beyond his years, independent, fearless, crafty and charming. Raised in the Kansas City projects by an alcoholic single mother, he's now roaming the streets alone. He embarks on a dangerous mission to uncover the secrets from Utopia.
NBC's LAW & ORDER: SVU
  • Philip Winchester will not be returning as a series regular for the drama's just announced 21st season. He has starred on the veteran drama for the last two seasons, and will appear in the final four episodes of the current 20th season.
  • He plays Peter Stone, an Assistant District Attorney and the son of original Law & Order prosecutor Ben Stone (Michael Moriarty). He first played the role on NBC's one-season drama Chicago Justice before segueing to SVU.
CBS' NCIS: LOS ANGELES
  • David James Elliott will reprise his role from CBS' JAG in an upcoming multi-episode arc on the drama's tenth season. This marks the first time Elliott has reprised the character since the 2005 series finale of JAG. That former drama was eventually spun off to create the successful NCIS franchise.
  • In the May 12 episode, the NCIS team uncovers ISIS sympathizers aiming to plan an attack on U.S. aircraft carriers. The terror threat results in Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and Sam (LL Cool J) working directly with Harmon "Harm" Rabb Jr. (Elliott), the XO Captain on the USS Intrepid.
CBS ALL ACCESS' WHY WOMEN KILL
  • Leo Howard and Alicia Coppola have booked recurring roles on the upcoming dramedy starring Lucy Liu, Ginnifer Goodwin and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. Howard starred for two seasons in Hulu's Freakish. Coppola stars in CBS' upcoming drama Blood & Treasure. She has previously recurred on FOX's Empire and Showtime's Shameless.
  • Howard will play Tommy. Seen in 1982. A sexy, handsome teen, about to turn 18, he is working as a waiter at one of Simone's (Liu) parties. Boyishly likable, hardworking, and with a little swagger, he is the son of one of Simone's friends. He's also got a mad crush on Simone.
  • Coppola will play Sheila. Seen in 1963. A New York Italian from Brooklyn, she is the friendly, outgoing, a bit overbearing, loud and well-meaning neighbor of Beth Ann (Goodwin) and Rob (Sam Jaeger).
