The CW's 'Supernatural' to End After 15 Seasons

It's the end of an era at The CW. Today, the broadcast network has announced that the upcoming fifteenth season of the original drama series Supernatural will be its final season. The drama will return for 20 more episodes during the 2019-20 season.

"Firstly, we would like to thank all the people who have been involved with the show both in front of and behind the camera," said executive producers Robert Singer and Andrew Dabb. "For us it has been an experience of a lifetime. The support we have had from both Warner Bros. Television and The CW has been incredible. We'd like to give special thanks to Jensen, Jared and Misha for making this journey so special. It is now most important to us to give these characters that we love the send off they deserve."

The drama stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Mark Pellegrino, Alexander Calvert and Misha Collins.

Eric Kripke created the drama, which debuted on The WB. It made the transition to The CW when the broadcaster became a joint venture between WBTV and CBS Television Studios. It is the only remaining show from The WB to still be airing. It also joins Arrow in ending with a final season during the upcoming season.
