AMC's 'Preacher' to End After 4 Seasons

AMC has today announced that the upcoming fourth season of the original drama series Preacher will be its last. Furthermore, the cable network has set a late summer premiere date for the final 10 episodes.

The final season will begin on Sunday, August 4.

The drama stars Dominic Cooper, Joseph Gilgun, Ruth Negga, Ian Colletti, Pip Torrens, Noah Taylor, Julie Ann Emery and Tyson Ritter.

Sam Catlin, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg developed the drama based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. They executive produce with James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Vivian Cannon, Ori Marmur, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter and Michael Slovis. AMC Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Point Grey Pictures, Original Film, Kickstart Productions and Short Drive Entertainment produce.

The decision to end Preacher after four seasons comes just days after Rogen and Goldberg moved their production company, Point Grey Pictures, from Sony to Lionsgate with a massive film and television deal.

Preacher will also be the third drama ending on AMC in 2019. It joins Into the Badlands and The Son - which are ending after three and two seasons, respectively. Moreover, the network announced today that it has ordered a third series set in The Walking Dead universe.
