Casting News - April 29, 2019

Hulu's Little Fires Everywhere and USA's Dare Me.

HULU's LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE
  • Jade Pettyjohn, Jordan Elsass, Gavin Lewis, Megan Stott and Lexi Underwood will co-star on the upcoming limited series starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.
  • Pettyjohn (the Deadwood film) will play Lexie Richardson, who is popular, smart, bossy and driven. She's also determined to follow in her mother, Elena's (Witherspoon), footsteps. She sees things in black and white and her biggest personal hardships have been not being allowed to get her bellybutton pierced and getting a Ford Explorer that was last years' model. She has her entire future with her boyfriend planned out. First Yale, then marriage, then settling down in Shaker just like her mother did - until her plans and sense of self are upended by a new family who moves to town.
  • Elsass (Isabel) will Trip Richardson, a Shaker Heighs high school junior who is "small town jock" handsome. A three-sport athlete, he's known as a player. Girls flock to him - but it's definitely for his looks, charm and charisma, not his intellect. But when he becomes involved with the daughter of Shaker Height's new and mysterious resident, he reveals himself to be more than he first appeared.
  • Lewis (Prince of Peoria) will play Moody Richardson, a high school sophomore who is a Vonnegut reader, Kurt Cobain conspiracy theorist, and once attended a Toad the Wet Sprocket concert alone. He struggles to find his place in his family and with his peers. He delves into music and literature, fashioning himself a "thinker" who's above his peers, in order to escape the reality that he doesn't fit in with them. When a new girl moves to town, he hurries to claim her.
  • Stott (So Shook) will play Izzy Richardson, the black sheep of her family who has trouble living up to the expectations of her mother, who just wants Izzy to fit in. Rebellious and outspoken, she's never afraid to take a stand for what she thinks is right, but it leaves her feeling alone in her own family and bullied at school. When free-spirited artist, Mia (Washington), moves to town, she becomes everything to Izzy - mother figure, best friend, idol. They develop an unlikely friendship that helps Izzy channel her rebellion and begin to understand and accept herself.
  • Underwood (Family Reunion) will play Pearl Warren, who is tired of relocating from town to town with her artist mother. She dreams of settling down for a normal life in Shaker Heights, Ohio and feeling like a normal kid. Her relationship with her mother becomes strained, as both of their lives become enmeshed with one of the town's most high-profile families, the Richardsons, causing Pearl to question Mia and the choices she's made.
USA's DARE ME
  • Chris Zylka and Taveeta Syzmanowicz have booked recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Willa Fitzgerald. Zylka previously starred for three seasons in HBO's The Leftovers. Syzmanowicz recurs on Netflix's upcoming drama October Faction.
  • Zylka will play Corporal Kurtz. Frat-boy handsome but with an aggressive edge, he is a Marine recruiter who serves under Sarge Will (Zach Roerig), an assignment he considers beneath him. He and Beth (Marlo Kelly) are drawn to the outlaw spirit in each other. But it's a relationship that feels dangerous.
  • Syzmanowicz will play RiRi, a vibrant and fun-loving member of the cheerleading squad, who is often the pawn in Addy (Herizen Guardiola) and Beth's friendship drama. Saddled by a very ambitious mother who has huge dreams and high expectations for her, she is anxious for freedom and eager to rise in her squad.
