YouTube Cancels 'Champaign ILL,' 'Do You Want to See a Dead Body,' 'Origin,' 'Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television' and 'Sideswiped'

YouTube is cleaning house today with the cancellations of a number of its original scripted shows - including comedies Champaign ILL, Do You Want to See a Dead Body, Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television and Sideswiped as well as drama Origin.

Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television was the only show cancelled today that produced a second season - which aired in January 2019. The other four series were cancelled after one season apiece - Champaign ILL (airing in December 2018), Sideswiped (July 2018), Do You Want to See a Dead Body (November 2017) and Origin (November 2018).

The streaming service isn't moving out of the scripted originals space though. It recently launched the second season of drama Step Up: High Water, which continues to perform well. The second season of Karate Kid follow-up Cobra Kai is out on April 24. Meanwhile, new seasons of drama Impulse and comedy Liza on Demand are currently in production.

YouTube has not yet decided on the fates of comedy Wayne (which debuted in January 2019) or anthology Weird City (premiered in February 2019).
