Casting News - Hilary Swank to Star in Netflix's 'Away'; Ty Burrell Joins Voice Cast of FOX's 'Duncanville'; Plus 2 More Updates!

FOX's DUNCANVILLE
  • Ty Burrell has joined the voice cast of the upcoming animated comedy starring Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones. He is a two-time Emmy winner for ABC's Modern Family, which is set to end after eleven seasons during the upcoming 2019-20 broadcast season.
  • He will play Jack, Duncan's (Poehler) father, a classic rock-obsessed plumber who's determined to be a better dad than his own father was. He's constantly posting nice things about his family on Facebook and is annoyed his kids won't friend him.
NETFLIX's AWAY
  • Hilary Swank will play the lead role on the upcoming drama created by Jason Katims and Andrew Hinderaker. She is a two-time Academy Award winner for Boys Don't Cry and Million Dollar Baby. She recently starred in the FX limited series Trust. Furthermore, Jessica Goldberg has signed on to showrun and executive produce the drama.
  • She will play Emma Green, an American astronaut who must leave her husband and teenage daughter behind to command an international space crew embarking on a treacherous mission. 
HULU's LOOKING FOR ALASKA
  • Rachel Matthews and Henry Zaga have booked recurring roles on the upcoming limited series starring Charlie Plummer and Kristine Froseth. Matthews starred in the Happy Death Day film franchise. Zaga stars in Netflix's upcoming drama Trinkets.
  • Matthews will play Fiona, a sophisticated and well-educated college student from a solid, healthy family. Alaska (Froseth) is at first suspicious of Fiona's friendship with her boyfriend, Jake, but soon realizes she's a good person and comes to respect her.
  • Zaga will play Jake, Alaska's impossibly handsome, floppy-haired, college-aged boyfriend who is funny and adorable.
CBS ALL ACCESS' INTERROGATION
  • Vinessa Antoine has landed a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Peter Sarsgaard, Kyle Gallner and David Strathairn. She previously starred for four seasons in CBC's Being Erica and four seasons in ABC's General Hospital. She currently stars in CBC's Diggstown.
  • She will play a street-smart diner waitress who becomes crucial in a decades-old murder investigation after becoming involved with the private investigator.
