DC Universe Cancels 'Swamp Thing' After One Season

Less than a week after its series debut, DC Universe has decided that the original drama series Swamp Thing will not be returning for a second season. The 10-episode first and only season will continue releasing new episodes this summer.

The drama starred Crystal Reed, Virginia Madsen, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Henderson Wade, Maria Sten, Jeryl Prescott and Will Patton.

Gary Dauberman and Mark Verheiden developed the series based on the DC Comics character. They executive produced with James Wan, Len Wiseman and Michael Clear. Warner Bros. Television, DC Entertainment, Atomic Monster Productions and Big Shoe Productions produced.

The cancellation comes after the first season was already tripped down from 13 to 10 episodes, with sources saying the cut was due to creative differences and financial concerns.
