Emmy Predictions 2019 - Which Programs Will Likely Be Nominated for TV Movie?

From June 10 to June 24, 2019, voting took place for The 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. As such, it's fun to look at which actors and shows have the best chances of actually being nominated this year. So, here is how I see the race for TV Movie.

2018 Nominees:
        Netflix's Black Mirror: USS Callister
        HBO's Fahrenheit 451
        Lifetime's Flint
        HBO's Paterno
        HBO's The Tale

This is an incredibly thin category at the Emmys. It has been that way somewhat for a couple of years now. As such, it's not a big deal when the winner is announced during the Creative Arts ceremony the week prior. Right now, there are really only two serious contenders - Netflix's Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and HBO's Deadwood: The Movie. Those are really the only two who could conceivably walk away with the win. That makes this a somewhat boring category to actually talk about. It may not be worth the effort. And yet, I'm still writing up a post for it. This is a genre that could use a significant shakeup. Or it could be one that is phased out over the next few years. It's just a little difficult to get a good reading on what the trajectory may or may not be when it comes to the thinking of the Emmy voters.

So now, here are the programs most likely to be nominated:
  1. Netflix's Black Mirror: Bandersnatch
  2. HBO's Deadwood: The Movie
  3. Amazon's King Lear
  4. HBO's My Dinner with Hervé
  5. HBO's Brexit
Next are some serious threats that could break into the list:
  1. HBO's Native Son
  2. HBO's Icebox
  3. HBO's O.G.
  4. Netflix's Sense8: Amor Vincit Omnia
Here are some considerable long-shots:
  1. Amazon's The Romanoffs: The End of the Line
  2. Amazon's The Romanoffs: House of Special Purpose
  3. Amazon's The Romanoffs: The Violet Hour
  4. Lifetime's Escaping the Madhouse: The Nellie Bly Story
  5. Lifetime's I Am Somebody's Child: The Regina Louise Story
And finally, just some colorful oddities who still have an outside chance:
  1. Lifetime's The Bad Seed
  2. Lifetime's Love You to Death
  3. Lifetime's No One Would Tell
  4. Disney's Kim Possible
