Netflix is expanding its relationship with The Haunting of Hill House's Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy. The streaming service has today picked up the duo's new original drama series Midnight Mass - which stems from their multi-year television deal with Netflix.
In the 7-episode first season, an isolated island community experiences miraculous events - and frightening omens - after the arrival of a charismatic and mysterious young priest.
Flanagan will write and direct. He will executive produce with Macy. Intrepid Pictures produces in association with Netflix.
The series pickup today follows the success of Flanagan and Macy's The Haunting of Hill House, which is now being turned into a horror anthology series - with the second installment The Haunting of Bly Manor currently casting.
