Casting News - August 15, 2019

Disney+'s Love, Simon; FOX's 9-1-1; HBO's The Nevers; and Spectrum's Mad About You.

HBO's THE NEVERS
  • Kiran Sonia Sawar, Elizabeth Berrington, Ella Smith, Viola Prettejohn, Anna Devlin and Martyn Ford have joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Laura Donnelly. Sawar starred in the "Crocodile" episode of Netflix's Black Mirror. Berrington appeared in the Amazon limited series Vanity Fair and Good Omens. Smith starred for two seasons in the British comedy Hoff the Record. Prettejohn guest starred in Starz's Counterpart. Devlin recurred on Syfy's 12 Monkeys. Ford appeared in Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
  • Sawar will play Harriet Kaur, a young Scottish Sikh who lives with the Orphans but is accepted by both her family and her betrothed. She's determined to live her life as she planned, despite its increasing weirdness.
  • Berrington will play Lucy Best, a dirt-poor and streetwise woman who has given up thieving to live with the Orphans. Her wit and high spirits mask a tragic past.
  • Smith will play Desiree Blodgett, a whore whose power makes men tell her everything on their minds. What she's heard may get her killed, even though she doesn't listen to most of it. She's devoted to her 6-year-old son, who never speaks.
  • Prettejohn will play Myrtle Haplisch, a middle-class girl rescued from a family who can't understand her - literally, as she no longer can speak - and is thrilled to be at the Orphanage.
  • Devlin will play Primrose Chattaway, who only wants to be an ordinary, proper 16-year-old girl - which is difficult, as she stands 10 feet tall.
  • Ford will recur as Nicolas Perbal aka Odium, the quintessential henchman who will do anything for anybody's money.
DISNEY+'s LOVE, SIMON

Moreover, the leading man of the film Nick Robinson will serve as a producer and narrator on the series.
  • Cimino (Annabelle Comes Home) will play Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school.
  • Martinez (One Day at a Time) will play Armando, Victor's regular blue collar "guy's guy" father who loves his family deeply and works hard for his family.
  • Ferreira (Orange Is the New Black) will play Pilar, Victor's sullen younger sister in the throws of teenage angst.
  • Fernandez will play Adrian, Victor's adorable, good-natured little brother.
  • Sequoyah (Believe) will play Mia, Victor's whip-smart friend with a quick wit and easy laugh.
  • Wood (The Real O'Neals) will play Lake, Mia's quirky and social media-obsessed best friend.

  • Gooding (Booksmart) will play Andrew, Creekwood's cocky and popular basketball-loving jock.
FOX's 9-1-1

She is seen as one of the most influential female athletes ever - winning championships in both the UFC and WWE. Her film credits include Mile 22, The Expendables 3 and Furious 7.
  • She will play Lena Bosko, a stoic and fearless member of the Los Angeles Fire Department Station 136 who leaps into action to save lives when a disaster hits.
SPECTRUM's MAD ABOUT YOU
  • Abby Quinn will star opposite Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt in the upcoming revival of the hit '90s sitcom. She appears in the 2019 films After the Wedding and Little Women
  • She will play Mabel, the grown-up daughter of Paul (Reiser) and Jamie Buchman (Hunt).
