Spectrum Originals has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming revival season of the original comedy series Mad About You.
The first six episodes of the new season will be available on Wednesday, November 20. The final six episodes will then be released on Wednesday, December 18.
Set 20 years after the end of the original series run, the new season explores the fertile ground of modern marriage through the eyes of the Buchmans as newly minted empty-nesters after dropping their unpredictable, hard-to-control daughter Mabel off at college.
The comedy stars Paul Reiser, Helen Hunt, Abby Quinn, John Pankow and Richard Kind.
Peter Tolan serves as showrunner for the new season. He executive produces with Reiser, Hunt, Brian Volk-Weiss, Michael Pelmont and Matthew Ochacher. Danny Jacobson - who co-created the series with Reiser - will serve as executive consultant. Sony Pictures Television and Comedy Dynamics produce.
The original sitcom ran on NBC for seven seasons from 1992-99. All 164 original episodes are now available free on-demand for Spectrum subscribers.
