Disney+ Renews 'High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' for Season 2

Ahead of the streaming service's launch, Disney+ has renewed its original drama series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series for a second season. Production will begin on the new season in early 2020 in Salt Lake City, Utah.





The drama stars Joshua Bassett, Olivia Rodrigo, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, Larry Saperstein, Julia Lester, Dara Renee, Frankie A. Rodriguez, Mark St. Cyr and Kate Reinders. 

Tim Federle created the drama. He executive produces with Oliver Goldstick, Bill Borden, Barry Rosenbush and director Tamra Davis.

The series premiere of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series will be televised across three networks - ABC, Disney Channel and Freeform - on Friday, November 8 at 8/7c. That's ahead of the Disney+ streaming launch on Tuesday, November 12. The second episode will premiere Friday, November 15 exclusively on Disney+, with subsequent episodes premiering weekly on every Friday.
