Netflix Orders 8 Episodes of Comedy 'Dash & Lily' Starring Austin Abrams and Midori Francis

Netflix has today given a series order to the original comedy series Dash & Lily starring Austin Abrams (Euphoria) and Midori Francis (Good Boys). Production is currently underway in New York for an eight-episode first season, which will debut in 2020.

Based on the novel Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, the comedy follows the whirlwind holiday romance between cynical Dash (Abrams) and optimistic Lily (Francis) as they trade dares, dreams and desires in a notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York City, finding they have more in common than they would have expected.

The cast will also feature Dante Brown, Troy Iwata, Keana Marie, James Saito and Jodi Long.

Joe Tracz developed the comedy and will serve as showrunner. He will executive produce with Shawn Levy, Nick Jonas, Josh Barry and director Brad Silberling. Cohn and Levithan will serve as co-executive producers. Fred Savage and Pamela Romanowsky will also direct episodes of the first season. 21 Laps Entertainment and Image 32 will produce in association with Netflix.

"The most essential quality of 21 Laps shows and films is heart, and Dash & Lily has that quality in spades," said Levy. "Josh Barry and I are thrilled to be starting production with such an exceptional group of collaborators on and off screen - from writer/showrunner Joe Tracz to our talented directors, incredible cast, and of course, our producing partner, Nick Jonas. This show is inspiring to us and promises to give audiences a uniquely romantic and entertaining New York City holiday adventure."
