Casting News - Rachel Keller Joins 'Dirty John'; Kaitlyn Dever and Jonathan Tucker to Star in 'Monsterland'; Plus 6 More Updates!

The CW's Legacies; Freeform's Grown-ish; HBO Max's The Flight Attendant; Hulu's Monsterland; Showtime's The Good Lord Bird & Halo; TNT's Snowpiercer; and USA's Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story.




THE CW's LEGACIES
  • Chris Lee has been promoted to series regular on the drama's second season. Furthermore, Olivia Liang has been cast in a recurring role. Lee has been recurring since the first season - appearing in 14 episodes overall. He has also been recurring on Showtime's The Chi. Liang starred in the web series Dating After College.
  • Lee plays Kaleb, a rebel vampire who isn't keen on hiding who he is.
  • Liang will play Alyssa Chang, a Salvatore School student witch and infamous instigator of drama among her peers. Snarky, intelligent and egotistical, she is a main character in her own mind, and never backs down from a challenge or misses an excuse to show off.
USA's DIRTY JOHN: THE BETTY BRODERICK STORY
  • Rachel Keller, Emily Bergl, Lena Georgas, Tiera Skovbye and Chris Mason have joined the cast of the upcoming second installment of the anthology series starring Amanda Peet and Christian Slater. Keller is set as a series regular while Bergl, Georgas, Skovbye and Mason will recur.
  • Keller (Fargo, Legion) will play Linda Kolkena, a bright, beautiful and capable young receptionist who Dan (Slater) hires to lighten his workload. Liberated and optimistic, she falls in love with her new boss but struggles to reconcile their years long affair with her traditional values.
  • Bergl (Shameless, American Crime) will play Marie Stewart, one of Betty's (Peet) only divorced friends. Kind, smart and having been through it herself, she implores Betty to take her divorce seriously.
  • Georgas (Westworld) will play Janet Ravis, Betty's friend, a funny, adventurous mother and widow who encourages Betty to find joy and purpose in life both before and after her split from Dan.
  • Skovbye (Riverdale) and Mason (Broadchurch) will play Betty and Dan during the early years of their courtship and marriage on the east coast. Devoted to achieving their goals as a team no matter how hard things get, they're driven, hardworking, hopeful and very much in love.
HULU's MONSTERLAND
  • Kaitlyn Dever and Jonathan Tucker will star in the first episode of the upcoming anthology series created by Mary Laws. Dever starred for six seasons in ABC's Last Man Standing and in the Netflix limited series Unbelievable. Tucker currently stars in Showtime's City on a Hill, which has been renewed for a second season.
  • In their episode, Toni (Dever) is a struggling waitress and overwhelmed mother to a deeply troubled little girl. At just 19, Toni is already world-weary. Making do in nowhere Louisiana without family, money or the hope of something better, her life is a long, dark highway with no exit in sight. But when she meets Alex (Tucker), Toni is forced to decide just how far she's willing to go to change her reality. Alex is a mysterious out-of-towner, road-hard and brooding, whose mere presence feels like a threat - or a dare. Magnetic in his strangeness, Alex has found a shocking way to jettison his past and take on new identities - one that inspires Toni to shake off the burdens of her own merciless life, whatever the cost.
SHOWTIME's HALO
  • Danny Sapani, Olive Gray and Charlie Murphy will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Pablo Schreiber. Sapani starred for two seasons in Showtime's Penny Dreadful and three seasons in Hulu's Harlots. Gray's guest credits include WGN America's Pure and Netflix's Sex Education. Murphy starred for two seasons in BBC's Peaky Blinders.
  • Sapani will play Captain Jacob Keyes, a dedicated military man, a war hero and a caring father. He finds that working alongside his daughter and his ex-wife is usually the cause of conflict rather than comfort.
  • Gray will play Dr. Miranda Keyes, a brilliant UNSC Commander who is dedicated to understanding the technology, language and culture of the Covenant, but she'll have to learn to navigate the politics of the UNSC to get what she wants.
  • Murphy will play Makee, an orphaned human who was raised by the alien Covenant and shares their contempt for humanity.
HBO MAX's THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT
  • Griffin Matthews is set as a series regular on the upcoming drama starring Kaley Cuoco. He has previously recurred on Netflix's Dear White People and HBO's Ballers.
  • He will play Shane Evans, Cassie's (Cuoco) flight attendant "work friend" and fellow nightlife compatriot. Their friendship is put to the test when Cassie's life begins to unravel.
SHOWTIME's THE GOOD LORD BIRD
  • Rafael Casal has landed a recurring role on the upcoming limited series starring Ethan Hawke. He co-wrote and starred in the 2018 film Blindspotting. He recently starred in Nickelodeon's Are You Afraid of the Dark? revival.
  • He will play Cook, one of John Brown's (Hawke) new recruits, a rascally, privileged adventurer who thinks Brown's plan is crazy but proclaims it "sounds fun."
TNT's SNOWPIERCER
  • Tom Lipinski has snagged a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. He starred for two seasons in Cinemax's The Knick. He has also recurred on Showtime's Billions, USA's Suits and NBC's Blindspot.
  • He will play Kevin, an officious member of Hospitality who is priggish and deferential to a fault, lauding his boss and adhering to his strict sense of the rules. However, when the heat is on, he may crumble under the pressure.
FREEFORM's GROWN-ISH
  • Henri Esteve, Raigan Harris and Andrew Liner has been cast in recurring roles on the comedy's upcoming third season. Esteve has recurred on ABC's Revenge and Amazon's Homecoming. Harris stars in the Snapchat series The Dead Girls Detective Agency. Liner's only credit so far is a guest appearance on FX's Better Things.
  • Esteve will play Javier, a gorgeous grad student whom Ana (Francia Raisa) interns with at Cal U. A well-educated Cuban Republican activist, he is able to cross party lines with his unwavering morals and his James Dean mystique. Despite having everything in common on paper, Ana will find that Javi challenges her in a way she never expected - both in the workplace and out.
  • Harris will play Rochelle, an opinionated, well-informed Cal U senior and member of the Black Student Union who's always down to fight for a cause. As a former hookup who resurfaces from Aaron's (Trevor Jackson) past, she challenges his activism while also helping to push his fights for justice to new heights.
  • Liner will play Rodney, a soft-spoken, baby-faced babe with a killer smile that belies a quiet confidence and self-assured swagger. From the moment he and Sky (Halle Bailey) meet, he's immediately intrigued as her sharp tongue is the perfect complement to his warm charm and grounded humor.
