Netflix Renews 'The Witcher' for Season 2

Over a month ahead of its series debut, Netflix has renewed its upcoming original drama series The Witcher for a second season. Production will resume in early 2020 on another 8-episode season.






The drama stars Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Jodhi May, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson, Adam Levy, MyAnna Buring, Mimi Ndiweni, Therica Wilson-Read, Emma Appelton, Eamon Farren, Joey Batey, Lars Mikkelsen, Royce Pierreson, Maciej Musial, Wilson Radjou-Pujalte and Anna Shaffer.

Lauren Schmidt Hissrich developed the drama based on the best-selling fantasy book series. She executive produces with Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Kathy Lingg, Tomek Baginski, Jarek Sawko and director Alik Sakharov.

The entire first season will be available on Friday, December 20.

"I'm so thrilled that before fans have even seen our first season, we are able to confirm that we'll be returning to The Continent again to continue telling the stories of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri," said Hissrich.
