Casting News - Nicole Richie Books Recurring Role on 'Bless This Mess'; 'The Last O.G.' Adds Chelsea Frei; Plus 2 More Updates!

Casting News - December 10, 2019

ABC's Bless This Mess; Amazon's Lord of the Rings; The CW's Supergirl; and TBS' The Last O.G.

TBS' THE LAST O.G.
  • Chelsea Frei has been cast in a recurring role on the comedy's upcoming third season. She currently stars in FOX's holiday event series The Moodys. She previously starred in YouTube Premium's one-season comedy Sideswiped.
  • She will play Luna, a millennial Brooklynite who is politically correct to a fault. She is self-righteous and rife with contradictions; she's a hippie, anti-consumerist who loves shopping and an ardent feminist who unironically loves The Bachelorette.
ABC's BLESS THIS MESS
  • Nicole Richie has landed a recurring role on the comedy's second season. She previously starred for two seasons in NBC's Great News. She has recently guest starred on HBO's Camping and Netflix's Grace and Frankie. She will also star in Quibi's upcoming comedy Nikki Fre$h.
  • She will Sierra, Rio's (Lake Bell) New York best friend, who would probably tell you she's from Brooklyn, but she's a spoiled Upper East Sider through and through. And she cannot wait to host her wedding at Mike (Dax Shepard) and Rio's "super rustic, kind of gross" farm.
THE CW's SUPERGIRL
  • Thomas Lennon has booked a recurring role on the drama's fifth season. He co-created and starred in Comedy Central's Reno 911!, which ran for six seasons. He also starred for three seasons in CBS' The Odd Couple. He has also recurred on FOX's Lethal Weapon and Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet.
  • He will play Mxyzptlk, the impish, reality-bending trickster from the 5th Dimension, who previously visited National City to woo Kara (Melissa Benoist), but created chaos in the process. Lennon succeeds Peter Gadiot in the role of the unpredictable shapeshifter.
AMAZON's LORD OF THE RINGS
  • Ema Horvath has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Will Poulter, Markella Kavenagh and Joseph Mawle. She starred in the 2017 film Like.Share.Follow and next stars in Quibi's upcoming drama Don't Look Deeper.
  • As with all previous castings, no details were immediately released about the character she will be playing.
