Netflix Announces Premiere Dates for 'Family Reunion,' 'The Healing Powers of Dude,' 'Medical Police,' 'October Faction' and 'The Stranger'

Netflix has today announced January premiere dates for a number of new and returning original scripted series - including Family Reunion, The Healing Powers of Dude, Medical Police, October Faction and The Stranger.






All 10 episodes of new comedy Medical Police will be available on Friday, January 10.

Two American physicians stationed at a pediatric hospital in São Paulo, Brazil unwittingly discover a civilization-threatening virus. They're soon recruited as secret government agents and find themselves in a race against time to find a cure, all the while uncovering a dark conspiracy at the center of the outbreak.

The comedy stars Erinn Hayes, Rob Huebel, Sarayu Blue, Rob Corddry, Henry Winkler, Malin Akerman, Ken Marino, Lake Bell, Jason Schwartzman and Fred Melamed.

Corddry co-created the comedy with David Wain, Krister Johnson and Jonathan Stern. Wain directs the first season with Bill Benz. All five also executive produce. Warner Horizon Television produces.


All 8 episodes of new family comedy The Healing Powers of Dude will be available on Monday, January 13.

Noah is an 11-year-old boy with a social anxiety disorder. When he starts middle school, he turns to Dude, a sarcastic emotional support dog who might need Noah as much as Noah needs him.

The cast includes Tom Everett Scott, Larisa Oleynik, Laurel Emory, Mauricio Mara, Sophie Jaewon Kim and Jace Chapman.

Erica Spates and Sam Littenberg-Weisberg created the comedy. They executive produce with Dan Lubetkin and director Richie Keen. Chris Philips serves as a producer. Blue Ant Studios produces in association with Netflix.


The remaining nine episodes of Family Reunion's first season will be released on Monday, January 20.

The comedy stars Tia Mowry, Anthony Alabi, Talia Jackson, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Cameron J. Wright, Jordyn Raya James and Loretta Devine.

Meg DeLoatch created the comedy, which has already been renewed for a 16-episode second season.


All 10 episodes of new drama October Faction will be available on Thursday, January 23.

After the death of Fred's father, globetrotting monster hunters Fred and Deloris Allen return to their hometown in upstate New York with their teenage children Geoff and Viv. As the family adjusts, Fred and Deloris must hide their identities as members of a secret organization, and our heroes quickly discover that their new small-town setting isn't as idyllic as it seems.

The drama stars Tamara Taylor, J.C. MacKenzie, Aurora Burghart, Gabriel Darku, Wendy Crewson, Megan Follows and Stephen McHattie.

Damian Kindler developed the drama based on the IDW comic book series. He executive produces with James Thorpe, Steve Niles, Thomas Walden, Eric Birnberg and Steve Niles. High Park Entertainment and IDW Entertainment produce.


All 8 episodes of new drama The Stranger will be released on Thursday, January 30.

Adam Price has a good life, two wonderful sons and a watertight marriage, until one night a stranger sits next to him in a bar and tells him a devastating secret about his wife, Corinne. Soon, Adam finds himself tangled in something far darker than even Corinne's deception, and realizes that if he doesn't make exactly the right moves, the conspiracy he's stumbled into will not only ruin lives - it will end them.

The drama stars Richard Armitage, Siobhan Finneran, Hannah John-Kamen, Jennifer Saunders, Shaun Dooley, Paul Kaye, Dervla Kirwan, Kadiff Kirwan, Anthony Stewart Head and Stephen Rea.

Danny Brocklehurst developed the drama based on the novel by Harlan Coben. He executive produces with Harlan Coben, Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee and Madonna Baptiste. Red Production Company produces.
