Netflix Sets Premiere Date for New Comedy 'Gentefied' Starring Joaquín Cosío

Netflix has today announced the premiere date for the upcoming original comedy series Gentefied from executive producer America Ferrera.

All 10 episodes of the first season will be available on Friday, February 21.

In this badass bilingual series about family, community, brown love and the displacement that disrupts it all, three Mexican-American cousins struggle to chase the American Dream, even while that same dream threatens the things they hold most dear: their neighborhood, their immigrant grandfather, and the family taco shop.

The comedy stars Joaquín Cosío, Karrie Martin, JJ Soria and Carlos Santos.

Recurring guest stars include Julissa Calderon, Annie Gonzalez, Laura Patalano, Felipe Esparza, Rafael Sigler, Jaime Alvarez, Bianca Melgar, Michelle Ortiz, Alejandro Patiño, America Ferrera and Wilmer Valderrama.

Marvin Lemus and Linda Yvette Chávez created the series, with Monica Macer serving as showrunner. They executive produce with Ferrera, Charles D. King, Kim Roth, Teri Weinberg and Aaliyah Williams. MACRO, Take Fountain Productions and Yellow Brick Road Productions produce.

Directors for the first season include Lemus, Ferrera, Marta Cunningham, Agora Guerra and Andrew Ahn.
